Chemical Compounder (2nd Shift)

This company has high expectations for employees with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. They are currently looking to add a Chemical Compounder (2nd Shift) to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$22/hr – $23/hr

Position Overview:

The Chemical Compounder (2nd Shift) is responsible for the accurate weighing, checking, and mixing of specific chemical compounds for product formulations in the production and laboratory spaces. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in working in a laboratory. The Chemical Compounder (2nd Shift) will also be doing sensory testing, so he or she cannot have any dietary restrictions.

Responsibilities of the Chemical Compounder (2nd Shift):

• The Chemical Compounder (2nd Shift) will weigh out raw materials according to a batch card.
• Assisting with emulsion preparation, liquid compounding, and powder blending, among other tasks.
• Responsible for the safe operation of forklifts and all material handling equipment within the work area.
• Moving products to and testing them within the lab environment.
• Calibrating, operating, and maintaining lab equipment.
• Participating in sensory testing of the products (taste, smell)
• Maintaining a safe working environment, utilizing appropriate safety equipment, and proactively improving the safety culture of the department.
• Maintaining processing area and equipment in a clean, sanitary, and presentable condition, adhering to GMPs and exemplary housekeeping standards.
• Ability and willingness to work as part of a team to solve problems, develop procedures, and recommend improvements.
• Performing other duties as assigned, including handling and moving of chemicals.
• Carefully documenting all data and results.

Required Experience/Skills for the Chemical Compounder (2nd Shift):

• 6 months+ experience as a Compounder in a regulated production environment.
• Ability to work 2nd shift and train on 1st shift.
• Ability to wear a respirator and operate a forklift.
• Basic math skills and application.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Chemical Compounder (2nd Shift):

• Positive, team-oriented mentality.
• 1 year+ of experience compounding in a food, flavor, or fragrance, or personal care production environment.
• Ability to learn new skills quickly and take direction well.

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED is required.
