Client Overview:

Our client, a private equity company, is looking to add an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to their team to assist on an interim basis during an incredibly busy time of year. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be part of a growing team. 

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$20/hr – $30/hr Depending on experience 

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist for a temporary assignment. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain valuable exposure to a dynamic, financial firm while contributing directly to a high-functioning finance team. The successful candidate will bring familiarity with complex, high-volume AP workflows, multi-entity and multi-currency transactions, and cross-department collaboration. This is a hands-on opportunity to support process improvements and strengthen AP operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • Lead the full Accounts Payable process, ensuring accurate coding, approvals, and timely invoice processing.
  • Manage complex, multi-entity, and multi-currency AP transactions across funds and corporate entities.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, including onboarding, due diligence, reconciliations, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Review and audit employee and candidate expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and ERP system enhancements (Workday Financials).

Required Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • 3 – 5 years of progressive Accounts Payable or accounting experience; financial services, asset management, or private equity exposure preferred.
  • Strong background in managing high-volume payables and complex, billable workflows.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP principles and internal control procedures related to payables.
  • Expertise in ERP platforms (Workday Financials strongly preferred) with advanced Excel skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple competing priorities.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field required.
