Our client is a well-known brand that specializes in women’s, men’s, and luxury accessories with a well-known brand awareness and recognition. They are looking to expand their team by bringing on a Freelance Visual Merchandising Manager.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$35/hr – 40/hr Based on experience 

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly creative Freelance Visual Merchandising Manager to oversee the execution of the brand’s in-store presentation at their New York City retail location. This temporary position will manage all aspects of visual merchandising, ensuring the store reflects the brand’s identity and drives a seamless customer experience.

Responsibilities of the Freelance Visual Merchandising Manager: 

• Lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all in-store visual displays, windows, and floor layouts.
• Translate brand guidelines and seasonal directives into compelling, customer-centric presentations.
• Partner closely with Store Management, Operations, and Corporate Visual teams to ensure consistency and timely execution.
• Train and guide store teams on visual standards, product placement, and styling techniques.
• Manage daily/weekly updates to product displays in response to sales trends, new arrivals, and promotional events.
• Oversee scheduling, budgeting, and vendor coordination for visual installations and signage.
• Monitor store traffic and visual performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Required Experience/Skills for the Freelance Visual Merchandising Manager:

• 4+ years of experience in visual merchandising, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of retail environments and customer behavior.
• Exceptional eye for detail, color, and composition; ability to interpret brand aesthetics into tangible displays.
• Hands-on approach with ability to execute as well as strategize.
• Ability to lift heavy items as needed. 

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Freelance Visual Merchandising Manager:

• Excellent organizational and project management skills. 
• Ability to work well with a team and take direction. 

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or equivalent work experience is required.
