Client Overview:

Our client is a fast-growing EdTech company based in Manhattan, partnering with schools and government agencies to deliver innovative learning solutions. They are seeking an experienced Accountant to support core financial operations while ensuring compliance with nonprofit and government funding requirements.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$30/hr – $35/hr 

Position Overview:

The Accountant will support month-end close, manage reconciliations, handle expense reports, and assist with audits, including Form 990s. This role also supports government contract compliance and reporting.

Responsibilities of the Accountant:

  • Handle bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end close and journal entries.
  • Process expense reports and review for accuracy.
  • Support Form 990 and annual audit prep.
  • Help ensure compliance with government contracts and grants.

Required Experience/Skills for the Accountant:

  • 4+ years of accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.).
  • Experience with NetSuite (required).
  • Understanding of government contract compliance.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accountant:

  • Nonprofit or EdTech industry experience.
  • Familiarity with Form 990 and fund accounting.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Higher education or certifications are a plus.
