Our client is a growing, fast-paced organization seeking support for its Accounting and Finance team by hiring an Accounting Assistant. The company values accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration in maintaining its financial operations.

$20/hr
Position Overview:
The Accounting Assistant will provide day-to-day support to the Finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, and assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general bookkeeping tasks. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Assistant:
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoices, customer payments, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and enter journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Reconcile accounts and report discrepancies.
- Generate customer statements and A/R reports.
- Assist with daily sales reconciliations and related journal entries.
- Respond to vendor and customer inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
- Provide support for audits and periodic inventory counts.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, and maintaining records.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Required Experience/Skills for the Accounting Assistant:
- 1+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- Familiarity with accounting or ERP software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounting Assistant:
- Experience with reconciliations and month-end close processes.
- Prior exposure to audits and inventory support.
- Knowledge of accounts payable and receivable best practices.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma is required.
