Client Overview:
Our client is a global non-profit that specializes in public health programs. They are looking to add a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$24/hr – $26/hr
Position Overview:
The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist handles day-to-day invoice and payment functions, ensuring transactions are completed on time and with accuracy. Responsibilities include processing bills, maintaining vendor records, and overseeing a secure vendor system within the organization’s financial software. This position requires strong organizational skills and close attention to incoming communications to support timely payments and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
Responsibilities of the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Review and process invoices, payment runs (ACH, wire, checks), and expense reports in NetSuite and Concur.
- Manage vendor relations, including onboarding, W9 collection, payment issue resolution, and international wire transactions.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and support documentation in NetSuite.
- Monitor the AP email inbox to ensure timely invoice processing and address discrepancies.
- Reconcile vendor statements and support month-end and audit processes with accurate reporting and documentation.
- Guide staff on AP procedures and assist in training and maintaining SOPs.
- Oversee 1099 preparation and ensure compliance with IRS and internal financial controls.
- Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years of full-cycle accounts payable experience.
- Experience in processing 150+ invoices a day.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience working in NetSuite or Salesforce, preferred.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
