Salary/Hourly Rate:

$90k – $110k

Position Overview:

This hands-on role will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting, including month-end close processes, journal entries, and bank reconciliations. The ideal candidate will be a go-getter with a strong attention to detail and a passion for the logistics and transportation industry.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

  • Perform month-end close procedures, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper documentation.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with audits and tax filings.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions.

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:

  • Experience in the logistics/transportation industry.
  • CPA certification.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
