Client Overview:

Our client is one of the world’s largest energy delivery systems, providing energy for the people who live in New York City and Westchester County. They are looking to add a Senior Software Developer to their team. The client will not sponsor or consider OPT Candidates.   

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$65/hr

Position Overview:

The Senior Software Developer will function as a technical SME on the implementation of major projects. The successful candidate is responsible for system development and vendor implementation efforts, from project initiation through post implementation support, while following and enforcing the department’s change management process to ensure timing of the changes does not jeopardize the availability and reliability of the systems. This is a one-year temp-to-perm contract, and the role is hybrid with 4 days onsite in NYC. 

Responsibilities of the Senior Software Developer:

  • Responsible for working on all aspects of new application development as well as vendor systems implementations: planning, requirements gathering, business analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, training, implementation, and ongoing technical support.
  • Work on day-to-day support of existing applications, problem-solving, and issue resolution.
  • Promote best practices and use of cybersecurity tools and follow procedures and guidelines to ensure complete compliance with the regulatory requirements, including NERC CIP and FERC Standards of Conduct requirements. 

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Software Developer:

  • Knowledge of Angular Developer, Azure Cognitive Service, best practices, design, and implementation.
  • Design and development of Web and Windows service.
  • Experience with Dockers, Full Stack .NET Developer, and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and Microsoft SQL Server 2019.
  • Object-Oriented methodology.
  • Power BI and SharePoint Developer experience.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Software Developer:

  • Knowledge of Full-stack Python.
  • Linux Red Hat.
  • Microsoft Visio.
  • TCP/IP experience.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is required.
