Our client is a growing medical office and is dedicated to providing exceptional eye care services to their patients. They are looking to add a Medical Receptionist to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$27/hr – $30/hr
Position Overview:
The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, handling phone calls, and maintaining patient records. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities of the Medical Receptionist:
- Patient Interaction: Greet and welcome patients as they arrive, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
- Appointment Scheduling: Schedule and confirm patient appointments, both over the phone and in person, using our electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Phone Management: Answer and direct phone calls, providing information and assistance to patients and visitors.
- Record Keeping: Maintain and update patient records accurately, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance information and assist with processing insurance claims.
- Billing Support: Assist with billing inquiries and payment processing.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform general office duties, including filing, faxing, and managing correspondence.
- Patient Coordination: Coordinate patient flow and ensure timely communication between patients and healthcare providers.
- Customer Service: Address patient questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
Required Experience/Skills for the Medical Receptionist:
- Proficiency in using EMR systems and other office software (utilize Athena and NexTech).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Medical Receptionist:
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is desirable.
- Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and customer service.
- Ophthalmology office experience would be a plus.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma is required.
