Atrium is partnering with a leading construction company specializing in commercial and residential projects across the region. With a commitment to quality, safety, and innovation, they have successfully completed numerous landmark projects. Our client is expanding their team and looking to bring on a Project Accountant.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$75k
Position Overview:
The Project Accountant will manage the financial aspects of multi-location construction projects. This role will be responsible for overseeing project budgets, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Responsibilities of the Project Accountant:
- Monitor and manage the financial health of multiple construction projects across various locations.
- Prepare and analyze project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Ensure accurate and timely billing and invoicing in accordance with project contracts.
- Track project costs, revenue, and profitability, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.
- Work closely with project managers to provide financial insights and support for decision-making.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for each project.
- Conduct regular financial audits to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Reconcile the general ledger cost of sales to Work In Progress (WIP) accounts.
- Handle any financial discrepancies or issues that arise during the course of a project.
Required Experience/Skills for the Project Accountant:
- 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management in multi-location or construction projects.
- Proficiency with ERP accounting software and tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Project Accountant:
- Familiarity with construction contracts and legal regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
