Our client partners with advisors and institutions to deliver personalized, values-aligned, and tax-smart investing. Their platform simplifies the complexity of delivering personalized portfolios at scale, with tools to help you automate operational workflows, uncover client values, deliver engaging reporting, and create more impactful client interactions. Currently, they are looking to add an Engineering Lead (AI and Development) to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$175k – $195k

Position Overview:

As a member of the Software Engineering team, the Engineering Lead (AI and Development) will play a vital role in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge generative AI models and agents. You will collaborate closely with experienced Engineers, Product Managers, and End-users to build innovative solutions that leverage the latest advancements in artificial intelligence. As the Engineering Lead (AI and Development), you will have the opportunity to work with modern technology paradigms on Google Cloud, including large language models (LLMs), deep learning frameworks, and distributed systems. As the Engineering Lead (AI and Development), you will also be responsible for mentoring Junior Engineers and fostering a collaborative environment. This position is crucial for advancing AI strategies and implementing systems that align with the business goals.

Responsibilities of the Engineering Lead (AI and Development):

  • Leverage, train, and fine-tune scalable AI models for a variety of applications.
  • Build, test, and maintain autonomous agents capable of complex reasoning and actioning for different tasks.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in the field of AI.
  • Collaborate on the development of infrastructure needed to support and scale our AI initiatives.
  • Identify new opportunities to apply generative AI and agent-based systems.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Work directly with Ethics Engineering, Product, and Business teams throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Required Experience/Skills for the Engineering Lead (AI and Development):

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in developing and implementing AI-powered solutions, with a focus on generative models and/or agent-based systems.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning principles.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Knowledge of programming with Java.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS.
  • Strong understanding of functional programming paradigms.
  • Familiarity with unit testing tools.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Passionate about Software and technology. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Engineering Lead (AI and Development):

  • Interest in asset management is a plus.
  • NoSQL experience is a plus.
  • Working experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) products such as Vertex AI, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage is preferred.

Education Requirements:

  • A Computer Science degree is required.
