Our client, a U.S.-based women’s apparel company, is seeking a Women’s Apparel Designer to join their in-house design function. The organization operates with a focused, collaborative structure and designs products for a broad customer base across multiple categories.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
Up to $120k plus Annual bonus eligibility
Position Overview:
The Women’s Apparel Designer is responsible for the design and development of a women’s lifestyle collection, with an emphasis on quality fabrics and thoughtful construction. The Women’s Apparel Designer will manage the design process from concept through production while partnering cross-functionally within a small design group. Relocation assistance is available for this role.
Responsibilities of the Women’s Apparel Designer:
- Design women’s apparel from concept through production.
- Develop seasonal direction and design concepts.
- Create and maintain tech packs and design documentation.
- Participate in fittings and sample reviews.
- Collaborate with internal partners throughout the development process.
- Research trends, fabrics, and market direction.
- Support and guide a junior team member.
- Present work to internal stakeholders.
Required Experience/Skills for the Women’s Apparel Designer:
- 7+ years of women’s apparel design experience.
- Experience across both knits and wovens.
- Strong understanding of garment construction and fabrication.
- Ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Women’s Apparel Designer:
- Experience designing lifestyle or contemporary women’s apparel.
- Experience working within lean design teams.
- Willingness to relocate if not local.
Education Requirements:
- A Degree in Fashion Design or a related field is preferred.
