Our client, a quickly growing beauty brand that is focused on innovation and creativity, is looking to hire a temporary Regulatory Specialist

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$33hr – $36/hr

Position Overview:

The Regulatory Specialist is an on-site role responsible for ensuring that products, ingredients, formulations, and labeling comply with all applicable federal, state, and international regulatory requirements. This role is long-term temporary, and our client is looking for someone to start as soon as possible. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree, currently reside in the area, and be comfortable working on-site 5 days a week. 

Responsibilities of the Regulatory Specialist:

  • Review product formulations, labeling, and claims to ensure regulatory compliance, while maintaining thorough records to support audits and inspections.
  • Oversee raw material coding and maintain all required regulatory documentation for domestic and international markets, including product registrations and state-level reporting.
  • Manage product safety testing by preparing samples, coordinating with testing laboratories, arranging shipments, and organizing final test reports.
  • Support the development, review, and maintenance of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to ensure product safety documentation is accurate and compliant.
  • Participate in regulatory risk assessments, compliance preparedness activities, and long-term regulatory strategy initiatives.
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners, including R&D, Product Development, Marketing, Quality, and Packaging, to support new product launches, reformulations, labeling updates, and provide timely responses to internal and customer regulatory inquiries.

Required Experience/Skills for the Regulatory Specialist:

  • Immediate availability to work onsite in New Jersey.
  • 3 years of Regulatory experience with a cosmetic, personal care product, or fragrance manufacturer.   
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and international regulations, such as FDA, FTC, EU Cosmetic Regulation, Health Canada, and other global compliance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of product labeling requirements, ingredient regulations, claims substantiation, and documentation standards.
  • Experience with SDS management, raw material documentation, and product registration processes (domestic and/or international).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including ingredient specifications, test reports, regulatory databases, and safety assessments.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field is required.
