Client Overview:
Our client is a highly regulated laboratory that is fast-paced, with about 25 lab staff. They are a mid-size company with over 30 years in business and are looking to expand their team by adding a Lab Coordinator.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$22/hr – $23/hr
Position Overview:
The Lab Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of a fast-paced lab team. This role ensures that lab activities run smoothly by managing scheduling, maintaining raw material organization, assisting with analytical work, and providing flexible, hands-on support across multiple functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable wearing multiple hats to meet the needs of the team. This is NOT a role for someone who wants to be in a hands-on lab position, but great for someone who is comfortable working in a lab and finds science interesting!
Responsibilities of the Lab Coordinator:
- The Lab Coordinator will manage and update the lab schedule to ensure efficient workflow.
- Organize and maintain raw materials, inventory, and general lab orderliness.
- Perform theoretical analysis and assist with testing, sample prep, and documentation.
- Conduct heavy metal analysis as needed (approx. 10% of workload).
- Provide flexible support across lab activities, acting as “extra hands” when required.
- Communicate with vendors regarding supplies, materials, and service needs.
- Apply basic color difference recognition during product and raw material evaluations.
Required Experience/Skills for the Lab Coordinator:
- Interest in working in a lab space.
- Professional experience in an administrative or lab setting.
- Great organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Lab Coordinator:
- Experience with Excel at an advanced level, including Pivot Tables.
- Experience working in a lab environment or a scientific company.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Associate’s degree is preferred.
