Salary/Hourly Rate:

$17/hr – $18hr

Position Overview:

The Part-Time Quality Assurance Technician will ensure food products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards. They will conduct routine and non-routine analyses, maintain documentation, and support continuous improvement in production processes. This role is part-time, and the ideal candidate will work on Tuesdays, Fridays, and weekends.

Responsibilities of the Part-Time Quality Assurance Technician:

  • Conduct standardized qualitative and quantitative tests on food and beverage products.
  • Perform routine and non-routine analyses of raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.
  • Calibrate, validate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Monitor and control product temperature and environmental conditions.
  • Compile and analyze laboratory test data.
  • Complete documentation for testing procedures, including data capture forms and logbooks.
  • Write technical reports, deviation reports, and testing protocols.
  • Investigate and report questionable test results.
  • Ensure lab cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment or quality problems.
  • Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations.
  • Recommend corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate findings to supervisors and relevant teams.

Required Experience/Skills for the Part-Time Quality Assurance Technician:

  • Ability to conduct laboratory tests and analyses.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in maintaining records and documentation.
  • Knowledge of food safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for handling laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Tolerance for working in temperature-controlled environments.

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field is required.
  • Relevant certifications in quality assurance or food safety are a plus.
