Our client, a distributor of home appliance machines, is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join their Parts department.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$18/hr
Position Overview:
The Customer Service Representative supports the Parts department by managing the full purchasing cycle for parts needed by field technicians. This Customer Service Representative role focuses on creating purchase orders, sourcing parts through vendor websites and portals, consolidating technician requests, and ensuring timely follow-up with suppliers.
Responsibilities of the Customer Service Representative:
- The Customer Service Representative will review technician work orders daily to identify required parts and materials.
- Consolidate individual part requests into efficient purchase batches.
- Create accurate purchase orders within the company’s system.
- Source and order parts through vendor websites, online catalogs, and vendor portals.
- Track order status, lead times, and delivery confirmations.
- Follow up with vendors regarding backorders, delays, pricing discrepancies, and shipment issues to ensure timely resolution.
Required Experience/Skills for the Customer Service Representative:
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, parts coordination, or a similar operational role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when creating purchase orders.
- Comfortable navigating online vendor portals, websites, and ordering systems.
- Ability to interpret technician work orders and translate them into purchasing needs.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and purchasing software (or willingness to learn).
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Customer Service Representative:
- Experience in a service, repair, or technical field where ordering parts is common.
- Familiarity with vendor management and inventory processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
