Our client, a well-established industrial services organization providing technical testing and inspection support to manufacturing clients, is looking to add a Service Technician (Field-Based) to their team. Salary/Hourly Rate:
$20/hr + Mileage reimbursement + Overtime
Position Overview:
The Service Technician (Field-Based) supports calibration, performs inspections, documents reviews, and assists with testing activities to ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal quality procedures. The Service Technician (Field-Based) plays a key part in maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and traceability of calibration and testing services.
Responsibilities of the Service Technician (Field-Based):
- Perform inspection, testing, and verification of temperature measurement and related instrumentation.
- Support calibration activities in accordance with documented procedures and quality standards.
- Review calibration records, test reports, and certificates for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with corrective and preventive actions related to quality findings.
- Maintain quality records, logs, and documentation in compliance with internal procedures.
- Support audits, including internal quality audits and customer or accreditation audits.
- Communicate effectively with Technicians, Engineers, and management regarding quality issues.
- Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures.
Required Experience/Skills for the Service Technician (Field-Based):
- Mechanically inclined, comfortable with tools and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
- Willingness to travel daily and occasionally out of state (paid travel time beyond normal commute).
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Service Technician (Field-Based):
- Prior hands-on or mechanical work experience (automotive, warehouse, shop, trades, etc.).
- Basic understanding of simple measurements or hand tools.
- Interest in building a long-term technical career.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
