Salary/Hourly Rate:

$55k – $75k

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Property Manager with 1 – 3 years of experience in commercial real estate to support the day-to-day operations of a portfolio of office, retail, and/or industrial properties. This Assistant Property Manager partners closely with the Property Manager to ensure the satisfaction of tenants, operational efficiency, and financial performance of assigned assets.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Property Manager:

  • Assist in the daily management of commercial properties, ensuring smooth building operations and tenant satisfaction.
  • Serve as a point of contact for tenant requests, coordinating maintenance, service calls, and follow-ups.
  • Support lease administration, including abstracting leases, tracking critical dates, and ensuring compliance with Lease terms.
  • Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, and assist with accounts payable/receivable functions.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely maintenance, repairs, and capital improvement projects.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and adherence to standards.
  • Assist in budget preparation, expense tracking, and monthly financial reporting.
  • Support rent collection efforts and follow up on delinquencies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate property records, files, and reports within property management systems.
  • Help coordinate tenant events, communications, and retention initiatives.

Required Experience/Skills for the Assistant Property Manager:

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in commercial property management or related real estate field.
  • Familiarity with lease terms, CAM reconciliations, and commercial property operations.
  • Experience with property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience supporting office, retail, or industrial portfolios.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Vendor management and contract coordination experience.

Education of Assistant Property Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, or a related field is preferred.
