$20/hr – $23/hr

Position Overview:

As an Accounts Payable Specialist (Temp-to-Hire, with potential to convert to permanent), you’ll be the backbone of nonprofit finance operations. Managing high-volume invoices with precision, the Accounts Payable Specialist ensures vendors are paid on time while supporting the organization’s mission. This role also provides exposure to general accounting functions within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • Accurately match, batch, and code a high volume of invoices.
  • Assist with general accounting and finance functions as needed.
  • Utilize accounting systems such as Intacct (preferred) for accounts payable processing.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment processing while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with finance team members to streamline processes and support month-end close.
  • Take on ad hoc accounting tasks to support team objectives.

Required Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • Experience in data entry, transaction processing, or accounts payable.
  • Ability to efficiently manage high-volume transactions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a nonprofit finance environment.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • Experience with Intacct or similar accounting software.
  • Previous nonprofit finance experience is a plus.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
