Our client is an established and growing retail organization with a strong market presence and a commitment to operational excellence. As they continue to expand, they are adding to their accounting team to support increased volume and enhance process efficiencies. This is an exciting opportunity to join a stable company that values collaboration, growth, and development. They are now looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$68k – $75k

Position Overview:

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing full-cycle AP processes while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies. This Accounts Payable Specialist role will work closely with internal departments and external vendors and is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and timely.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process weekly/monthly check runs and ACH payments.
  • Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger.
  • Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries.
  • Assist with month-end close related to accounts payable.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Support AP process improvements and special projects as needed.

Required Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • 4+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience working in retail, distribution, or consumer goods is a plus.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and ERP platforms.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience with SAP and Concur systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
