Our client is an established manufacturing organization in the food and beverage industry. They are currently seeking a 1st Shift Production Lead to join their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$26/hr – $27 + Factory Incentive Bonus plan.
Position Overview:
The 1st Shift Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily equipment operation, compliance, inventory control, and materials movement within the bakery/packaging department. Reporting to the Production Shift Supervisor, this role leads the team to meet production goals safely and efficiently, manages shift changeovers, and ensures adherence to quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities of the 1st Shift Production Lead:
- Promote a safe, compliant work environment and ensure team adherence to internal standards.
- Oversee daily production activities to meet output, quality, and efficiency targets.
- Maintain area readiness, including cleanliness, organization, and audit preparedness.
- Monitor product quality and partner cross-functionally to resolve issues quickly.
- Support material tracking and inventory-related activities within internal systems.
- Complete routine shift documentation, checks, and handoffs using digital tools.
- Address day-to-day team matters and escalate more complex concerns as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the 1st Shift Production Lead:
- Experience leading or guiding teams in a production, manufacturing, or operations setting.
- Background experience in food manufacturing or a commercial bakery.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suites and ERP software.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the 1st Shift Production Lead:
- Experience with Redzone software.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma is required.
