Client Overview:

Our client is a global pharmaceutical company looking to add a Senior Manager, Clinical Trial Budgets and Contracts to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$160k – $180k

Position Overview: 

The Senior Manager, Clinical Trial Budgets and Contracts, leads the development, negotiation, and oversight of all clinical trial financial agreements and study budgets across CROs, vendors, and investigative sites. This role ensures that contracts and budgets accurately reflect protocol requirements while aligning with operational timelines, financial goals, and regulatory standards. Partnering cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Finance, Legal, and Project Management, the position provides end-to-end financial oversight, including invoice reconciliation, spend tracking, and audit readiness. The role also drives process consistency, compliance with ICH-GCP, and best practices in contracting and budgeting to support efficient and compliant clinical trial execution.

Responsibilities of the Senior Manager, Clinical Trial Budgets and Contracts:

  • Drafts, reviews, and negotiates MSAs, CTAs, work orders, and amendments with CROs, vendors, and investigative sites.
  • Develops and validates comprehensive study budgets, including site, CRO, and vendor costs, ensuring alignment with protocol requirements.
  • Partners cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Finance, Legal, and Project Management to align on contract terms and secure timely approvals.
  • Oversees financial tracking by reviewing invoices, monitoring study spend, and resolving discrepancies against contracted terms.
  • Ensures compliance with ICH-GCP, internal SOPs, and regulatory requirements while maintaining audit-ready documentation.
  • Implements standardized processes and trains teams on best practices for budgeting, contracting, and financial governance.

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Manager, Clinical Trial Budgets and Contracts:

  • 3 – 6 years of experience in clinical trial, contracting, budgeting, or vendor management.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating MSAs, CTAs, work orders, and amendments with CROs, vendors, and investigative sites.
  • Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Manager, Clinical Trial Budgets and Contracts:
  • Excellent communication.

Education Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Finance, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field is required.
