Our client, a large organization in Tampa, FL, is seeking a Senior Accountant for a highly visible role with strong growth potential. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, confident in owning financial responsibilities, and experienced with SOX compliance, US GAAP, and cost accounting processes.
Salary/Rate/Hourly Rate:
$88k – $105k
Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will act as support for both general accounting and cost accounting processes. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to take the next step in their career.
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
- Support monthly close and financial reporting through preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, consolidations, and roll-forwards to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare internal financial reporting packages, including management reports and annual financial statements with footnotes, while maintaining ERP system reporting and disclosures.
- Coordinate audit and compliance activities, including SOX controls, internal audit self-assessments, external audit schedules, and resolution of audit findings to ensure balance sheet integrity.
- Assist with cost accounting functions, including variance analysis on inventory transactions, and support LIFO/FIFO updates and cost maintenance within the ERP system.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
- 5+ years of experience.
- Extensive Excel.
- Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
- Proficiency in SAP is preferred but not required.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent related business degree is required.
