Accounting Manager

Client Overview:

Our client, a well-established organization, is looking for an Accounting Manager to join their Tampa, FL team. This is a highly visible role offering strong growth potential and the opportunity to further develop technical expertise. The ideal candidate will be confident owning financials end-to-end and have solid experience with SOX compliance, US GAAP, and cost accounting processes.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$130k – $150k

Position Overview:

This role works closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams while providing guidance to associated accounting staff. It supports key accounting activities throughout the close cycle, helps maintain and improve financial systems, and ensures accuracy in reporting. The position also contributes to cost and margin analysis to help inform and support business decisions.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:

• Lead cost accounting activities including standard costing, variance analysis, and ongoing maintenance of cost structures.
• Oversee inventory and COGS accounting, including reconciliations, cycle counts, physical inventory, reserves, scrap, and compliance with internal policies.
• Deliver financial analysis and reporting for leadership, including margin, revenue, KPI reporting, overhead variances, and ad hoc cost insights.
• Partner with FP&A and audit teams on budgeting, forecasting, standard cost development, SOX compliance, and strengthening internal controls and reporting accuracy.

Required Experience/Skills for the Accounting Manager:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in multi-site environments.
• Solid understanding of cost accounting principles across process, discrete, or repetitive manufacturing environments.
• SAP experience required.
• GAAP/IFRS knowledge preferred.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounting Manager:

• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills with exposure to SQL, Power BI, or similar tools.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
