Our client is a fast-paced, creative design team focused on children’s apparel. Their collaborative environment values hands-on experience, innovative design, and attention to detail. They are now looking for an Associate Designer.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$75k – $80k
Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented Associate Designer with children’s apparel experience to join a NYC-based team. This hands-on, on-site role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and has experience taking kidswear collections from concept to production.
Responsibilities of the Associate Designer:
- Support the design team in creating seasonal children’s collections, including concept development, sketches, and tech packs.
- Collaborate with product development, merchandising, and sourcing teams to ensure designs are production-ready.
- Conduct trend research and assist in material selection to keep collections fresh, relevant, and commercially appealing.
- Contribute creatively to the team while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
Required Experience/Skills for the Associate Designer:
- 2+ years of professional design experience in children’s apparel.
- Strong technical skills including sketching, CAD, and garment construction.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Associate Designer:
- Experience working on kidswear collections from concept to production.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field preferred.
