Client Overview:

Our client is a company that is committed to maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. Through strong operational practices and employee engagement, they strive to meet regulatory requirements while continuously improving safety performance and environmental stewardship across our operations. They are currently looking to add an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate: 

$75k – $85k

Position Overview:

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator supports the planning, execution, and day-to-day administration of environmental, health, and safety programs at the facility level. This role works collaboratively with site leadership and employees to promote safe work practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The EHS Coordinator serves as a key resource for employees and assists EHS leadership with implementation, monitoring, and reporting activities.

Responsibilities of the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator:

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of site EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with compliance efforts related to OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and local regulations.
  • Conduct routine safety and environmental inspections and document findings, and support corrective action tracking.
  • Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions to help prevent recurrence.
  • Support Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and safe work practice development.
  • Coordinate and assist with the delivery of EHS training, including onboarding, refresher, and task-specific training.
  • Maintain EHS documentation such as training records, SDS files, permits, logs, and inspection reports.
  • Support hazardous and non-hazardous waste management activities, including labeling, storage, and disposal.
  • Assist with data collection, metric tracking, and preparation of internal EHS reports.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and employee safety engagement activities.

Required Experience/Skills for the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator:

  • 2 – 5 years of experience in an EHS, safety, or environmental compliance role.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and basic environmental compliance requirements.
  • Experience conducting inspections, observations, or audits in an operational environment.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced workplace.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator:

  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, or similar operational environments.
  • Familiarity with EHS management systems, incident tracking software, or compliance databases.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste management, chemical safety, and emergency response procedures.
  • Professional or technical certifications (e.g., ASP, OSHA certifications, HAZWOPER) are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and frontline employees.

Education Requirements: 

  • High school diploma is accepted with applicable experience.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred.
