Salary/Hourly Rate:
$25/hr – $29/hr
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Freelance Color Assistant to support the execution and approval of seasonal color and print standards. This role will work closely with design, production, and external vendors to ensure color consistency across all product categories while maintaining accurate records and supporting the overall color development process.
Responsibilities of the Freelance Color Assistant:
- Maintain and organize color standards, design tools, and related inventory.
- Assist in creating and distributing seasonal digital color palettes.
- Update and manage internal databases with color standards and approvals.
- Coordinate color development with thread suppliers and track approvals.
- Support lab dip, print, and trim review processes, including documenting feedback.
- Partner with design teams to review and approve color for trims and materials.
- Maintain organized records and archives of all color approvals and submissions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment on color standards and timelines.
Required Experience/Skills for the Freelance Color Assistant:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong follow-up and time management abilities.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and functions.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Freelance Color Assistant:
- Prior experience in color, print, or textile development within fashion or apparel.
- Familiarity with color approval processes including lab dips, trims, and print reviews.
- Experience working with internal systems or databases for tracking approvals.
- Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Textiles, Apparel, Color Technology, or related field).
