Our client, a large organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team based in Tampa, FL. This is a highly visible role offering strong growth potential and the opportunity to develop technical and professional skills further. The ideal candidate is a technically strong analytical thinker who takes ownership of their financials and has experience with SOX, US GAAP, and cost accounting processes.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$90k – $110k
Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will support both general and cost accounting functions. This role is well-suited for someone looking to take the next step in their career while contributing to key financial operations.
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
- Support the month-end close and financial reporting, including preparing journal entries, consolidations, and reviewing entries for accuracy.
- Prepare monthly internal financial reports, including financial and statistical data, for management.
- Manage annual financial statements, including footnotes, and maintain ERP system reporting.
- Coordinate quarterly and annual schedules and disclosures.
- Perform SOX control testing, resolve audit issues, and support external audit requirements.
- Assist with cost accounting processes and procedures.
- Analyze inventory variances and related controls.
- Ensure accuracy of reconciliations, roll-forwards, and reporting deadlines.
- Support LIFO/FIFO cost updates and maintain cost accuracy in ERP.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- SAP experience is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
