Salary/Hourly Rate:
$24/hr – $28/hr
Position Overview:
The Shipping Analyst will be responsible for planning and analyzing inbound import shipments from a global logistics network to the US and Canada. This role ensures timely and cost-effective delivery of goods while maintaining data accuracy and supporting internal teams. The position as a Shipping Analyst requires collaboration with logistics partners, internal departments, and third-party providers to optimize transportation and supply chain efficiency.
Responsibilities of the Shipping Analyst:
- Plan, analyze, and monitor the flow of imports inbound to the US and Canada to ensure efficient on-time product delivery.
- Make planning decisions regarding product flow based on best price and lane optimization.
- Provide daily performance updates and quarterly business reviews from logistics data.
- Oversee internal logistics customer service to sourcing and planning teams for day-to-day problem resolution and strategic delivery planning.
- Monitor and maintain logistics tracking system data across the supply chain and complete management reporting.
- Assist in performing reconciliation of accounts payable (current and past-due) to resolve delinquencies.
Required Experience/Skills for the Shipping Analyst:
- Prior experience with logistics and freight operations.
- Proficiency in SAP for supply chain and logistics functions.
- Experience working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Shipping Analyst:
- Experience in international shipping and import/export compliance.
- Knowledge of ocean, air, and trucking transportation modes.
- Familiarity with cost estimation and freight rate analysis.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to prepare and present performance reports and business reviews.
- Advanced Excel or data analysis skills preferred.
- Continuous learning in supply chain optimization and technology tools.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Coursework or certification in transportation or logistics management is a plus.
