Our client is an urgent care facility and they are now looking for a CT Technologist.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$26/hr – $36/hr
Position Overview:
The CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic CT imaging exams while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to departmental protocols. This role requires strong technical expertise, patient care skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities of the CT Technologist:
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of CT equipment operation to produce high-quality diagnostic examinations.
- Stay current on advances in CT technology and maintain knowledge of emergency and ancillary equipment usage.
- Obtain and communicate pertinent patient information to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
- Use equipment, accessories, techniques, and procedures in accordance with accepted standards of practice.
- Demonstrate expertise in minimizing radiation exposure to patients, self, and other healthcare team members.
- Deliver patient care without discrimination based on sex, race, creed, religion, or socio-economic status.
- Administer Basic Life Support, first aid, and perform basic IV procedures when necessary.
- Demonstrate understanding of Computed Tomography, including power injectors and post-processing software.
- Independently perform routine CT and CTA exams including CT Calcium Score, CTA Head/Neck, CTA Chest, CTA Abdomen/Pelvis, and CTA Runoff.
- Approve and schedule CT exams according to departmental protocol.
- Perform basic image reformats and modify scanning protocols as necessary to meet patient and diagnostic needs.
- Assist patients on and off the scan table and transport patients via stretcher or wheelchair.
- Maintain professional conduct while responding to patient care needs and support efficient patient flow throughout the department.
- Demonstrate manual dexterity in scanner operation, wheelchairs, stretchers, and oxygen tank usage.
Required Experience/Skills for the CT Technologist:
- Minimum of 1 year of CT experience.
- Experience working with 3D workstations.
- Strong understanding of physiology and cross-sectional anatomy.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining quality diagnostic imaging standards.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the CT Technologist:
- Recent ARRT (CT) certification with up to 3 years of CT experience preferred.
Education Requirements:
- ARRT (CT) Certification required.
- Completion of an AMA-accredited program required.
