Love numbers and a little excitement? Our client, a fast-paced organization in the events and nonprofit space, is looking for a detail-driven Staff Accountant who is ready to jump into the action. From high-profile events to meaningful fundraising initiatives, this team blends finance with purpose — and they are looking for someone who can keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$27/hr – $33/hr
Position Overview:
This is not your typical accounting role; you will be at the center of financial operations, supporting dynamic events and donor initiatives. From managing payments to tracking ticket sales and reconciling accounts, you will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy while contributing to memorable experiences. If you enjoy variety in your day and thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment, this role is calling your name. This is a 3 – 4-month contract with potential for extension.
Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable related to event expenses and revenue.
- Process payments including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transactions.
- Maintain and update records within Salesforce CRM.
- Oversee ticket sales operations, including customer service inquiries and refunds.
- Track and reconcile liquor inventory for events.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and prepare financial reports.
- Generate donor receipts and assist with accruals during year-end close.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure smooth financial operations.
Required Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting or financial management experience.
- Strong understanding of A/P, A/R, and general accounting processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:
- Experience working with events, hospitality, or nonprofit organizations.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
- Experience handling high-volume transactions or inventory tracking.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
