Our client, a growing, family-owned public accounting firm, is expanding and looking to add a Senior Tax Associate to their team. The firm provides a full range of tax services to a diverse client base and offers a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Salary/Hourly Rate:
$90k – $95k
Position Overview:
The Senior Tax Associate will be responsible for preparing and managing a wide variety of tax returns while working directly with clients. This role is ideal for someone coming from a small to mid-sized CPA firm who enjoys hands-on work, broad exposure to multiple entity types, and direct client interaction.
Responsibilities of the Senior Tax Associate:
- Prepare and review federal and multi-state income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, individuals, and fiduciaries.
- Manage multiple engagements and deadlines during peak tax seasons.
- Communicate directly with clients to gather information and address tax-related questions.
- Assist with tax planning, projections, and extensions.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
- Support firm growth initiatives and mentor junior staff as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Tax Associate:
- 4 – 5+ years of professional tax preparation experience.
- Strong knowledge of corporate, partnership, individual, and fiduciary returns.
- Multi-state tax experience.
- Background working in a small to mid-sized CPA firm.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Client-facing experience.
- Team-oriented, detail-driven, and adaptable.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Tax Associate:
- Exposure to a wide range of clients and industries.
- Experience using UltraTax (or similar tax software).
- Interest in long-term growth within a firm environment.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- CPA and/or EA credentials are a plus but not required.
