The organization fosters a collaborative environment and values professional development. They are currently looking to add a Medical Billing Specialist to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate: 

$25/hr – $30/hr

Position Overview: 

The Medical Billing Specialist manages the revenue cycle, ensuring accurate billing and timely reimbursements. The role requires expertise in medical billing, Medicare processes, and familiarity with state websites.

Responsibilities of the Medical Billing Specialist:

  • Process medical billing and insurance claims efficiently.
  • Manage Medicare billing and navigate FL State websites. 
  • Utilize Qualifacts and Credible platforms for billing and reporting.
  • Access and update information on state funder websites.
  • Analyze billing data using MS Excel, including pivot tables.
  • Track claim status and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with data privacy regulations.
  • Communicate with supervisors and external stakeholders regarding billing issues.

Required Experience/Skills for the Medical Billing Specialist:

  • Proficiency in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
  • Experience with Medicare billing and FL State websites.
  • Ability to use MS Excel, including pivot tables.
  • Familiarity with Qualifacts, Credible, and state funder websites.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with privacy laws.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Medical Billing Specialist:

  • Prior experience in a healthcare billing role.
  • Exposure to multiple insurance providers and reimbursement processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with additional billing software platforms.
  • Knowledge of state-specific billing regulations.

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
