Our client, a high-volume manufacturing organization specializing in personal care and cosmetic products, is looking to hire a Color Matching Technician – 2nd Shift. The company is committed to quality, safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on teamwork and innovation.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$28/hr (shift differential included)
Position Overview:
The Color Matching Technician – 2nd Shift is responsible for ensuring that cosmetic batches accurately match established shade standards. The Color Matching Technician – 2nd Shift supports production quality by performing shade adjustments, tracking batch data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is for the second shift, Monday to Friday, from 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm. Occasionally, overtime is required on Saturdays. Candidates must be available to train from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm for the first six weeks.
Responsibilities of the Color Matching Technician – 2nd Shift:
- Perform shade matching for products such as lipstick, foundation, powders, and other color cosmetics.
- Review and document batch color history, including tracking daily adjustments.
- Maintain and update color standards, including renewal of expired references.
- Prepare bench samples to support production batches and investigate color discrepancies or rework needs.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Technical teams to resolve shade or formulation issues.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality processes and documentation standards.
Required Experience/Skills for the Color Matching Technician – 2nd Shift:
- 3 years of shade-matching experience in cosmetics or a related industry (e.g., chemical or paint).
- Ability to visually distinguish color accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Basic math proficiency.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Computer literacy and experience with data tracking.
- Flexibility to support overtime or weekend schedules as needed.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and ISO standards.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Color Matching Technician – 2nd Shift:
- Prior experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to batch processing or production support roles.
- Familiarity with cosmetic product formulations.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
