Our client is a rapidly expanding organization in the healthcare services sector seeking a skilled accounting professional to support and enhance its financial operations. The company operates across multiple locations and is focused on delivering high-quality care while maintaining strong financial discipline and transparency. They are currently seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$100K – $115K

Position Overview:

The Revenue Accounting Manager will oversee revenue-related accounting processes within a healthcare environment, ensuring accurate financial reporting, evaluating reimbursement trends, and supporting data-driven decision-making. This role requires strong analytical capabilities and an understanding of healthcare financial flows, including payer-driven revenue variability. The Revenue Accounting Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze revenue performance, improve reporting accuracy, and support strategic initiatives that strengthen financial controls and operational efficiency. This position plays a key role in supporting informed business decisions through detailed revenue analysis and financial insight.

Responsibilities of the Revenue Accounting Manager:

  • Manage accounting and reporting for patient-related revenue streams, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze financial data related to billing, collections, and adjustments to determine net revenue outcomes.
  • Prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation as part of the financial close process.
  • Review trends in collections, reimbursement levels, and payment timing differences.
  • Partner with internal teams to investigate discrepancies between operational activity and financial results.
  • Support development of assumptions used in estimating revenue adjustments and reserves.
  • Monitor key financial indicators and provide insight into performance drivers.
  • Assist with financial audits and ensure proper documentation for compliance purposes.
  • Strengthen processes and controls related to revenue recognition and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows through better use of systems and data tools.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts by providing revenue-related insights.

Required Experience/Skills for the Revenue Accounting Manager:

  • Strong background in accounting with exposure to healthcare financial operations.
  • Experience working with revenue data derived from billing and reimbursement processes.
  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets.
  • Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to both accounting and non-accounting stakeholders.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Revenue Accounting Manager:

  • Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement structures, including government and commercial payers.
  • Experience analyzing trends related to collections, write-offs, and payment variances.
  • Exposure to financial systems, reporting tools, or data visualization platforms.
  • Experience supporting audits and working in regulated environments.
  • Interest or experience in leveraging automation or AI tools to improve efficiency.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • CPA or similar professional certification preferred.
