Client Overview:

Our client, a well-established law firm, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Corporate Legal Assistant to provide dedicated support to attorneys within a fast-paced transactional practice. This role is ideal for a polished legal professional who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and excels at balancing administrative responsibilities with document-heavy legal support.

Salary/Hourly Rate: 

$70k – $85k 

Position Overview: 

The ideal candidate for the Corporate Legal Assistant role will bring strong law firm experience, exceptional technical skills, and the ability to manage multiple moving priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Responsibilities of the Corporate Legal Assistant:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to attorneys within the corporate practice group.
  • Draft, revise, proofread, and format a variety of legal documents, agreements, correspondence, and client-facing materials.
  • Manage document revisions, redlines, version control, and final execution of legal documentation.
  • Coordinate conflicts checks, client onboarding, matter openings, and engagement documentation.
  • Maintain organized electronic files and ensure proper document storage within the firm’s document management system.
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule internal and external meetings, coordinate conference room logistics, and arrange virtual meetings.
  • Assist with billing support, expense reimbursements, time entry, and other administrative reporting as needed.
  • Monitor deadlines, follow up on outstanding items, and help keep transactional matters moving efficiently.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality.

Required Experience/Skills for the Corporate Legal Assistant:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, or similar support role within a law firm.
  • Prior experience supporting corporate, transactional, finance, or business law attorneys strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, with strong document formatting and editing skills.
  • Experience working with document management systems and legal technology platforms.
  • Strong understanding of legal document workflows, including revisions, redlining, and version control.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional, client-service mindset.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Corporate Legal Assistant:

  • Highly proactive and resourceful with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new systems and software.
  • Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with attorneys and support staff.
  • Professional presence with a strong sense of discretion and confidentiality.

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
