A leading commercial real estate organization is seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a busy property portfolio in Jamaica, Queens. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with commercial property management experience who is highly organized, proactive, and experienced with Yardi.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$30–$33 per hour
Position Overview:
The Assistant Property Manager will provide administrative and operational support to the property management team, assisting with financial processes, vendor coordination, tenant communications, inspections, and property operations. The ideal candidate has prior property management experience, strong attention to detail, and hands-on experience with Yardi.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Property Manager:
- Process invoice coding and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist with accounts receivable review and tenant follow-up.
- Prepare and process move-out documentation, rent adjustments, and approval paperwork.
- Coordinate vendor contracts, renewals, and tracking.
- Communicate professionally with tenants, vendors, and contractors.
- Assist with budget preparation, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
- Coordinate violation documentation and corrective actions.
- Conduct routine property inspections and tenant move-out walkthroughs.
- Participate in vendor site walks and assist with project bid coordination.
- Document property conditions through photos and reports.
- Support emergency response efforts, including pre-storm notifications and post-storm inspections.
- Assist with additional administrative and operational projects as assigned.
Required Experience/Skills of the Assistant Property Manager:
- Previous Assistant Property Manager or Property Management experience required.
- Hands-on experience using Yardi required.
- Strong understanding of property management operations and financial processes.
- Experience with invoice coding, accounts receivable, and vendor coordination.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience/Skills of the Assistant Property Manager:
- Commercial real estate property management experience.
- Experience supporting budgets, financial reconciliations, and contract administration.
- Knowledge of property inspections, tenant relations, and facilities coordination.
Education Requirements:
