Our client is a well-established organization that supports product research, development, and testing activities across multiple consumer-focused categories. They are seeking a Lab Associate to assist with analytical samples preparation work and sample evaluation in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$21/hr
Position Overview:
The Lab Associate will be responsible for purification tasks in relation to R&D activities. The position demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and quick learning abilities. Please note that this position is a 3-month contract with potential for extension.
Responsibilities of the Lab Associate:
- Prepare and purify samples for testing.
- Conduct bench experiments related to material characterization.
- Accurately document experimental data both manually and digitally.
- Collaborate with the Supervisor and team to review results and prioritize tasks.
- Operate lab instruments safely, adhering to protocols and safety standards.
Required Experience/Skills for the Lab Associate:
- Detail-oriented and quick to learn new procedures.
- Solid understanding of chemistry principles, lab operations, and safety practices.
- Experience with common lab equipment such as fume hoods, balances, centrifuges, and separatory funnels.
- Proficient in basic computer applications like Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Lab Associate:
- Previous lab research experience via internships, projects, or employment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Familiarity with separation methods and handling organic solvents.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other relevant scientific disciplines is required.
