Salary/Hourly Rate:
$90k – $110k Annually
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to support both general accounting and cost accounting functions. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a technical environment, takes ownership of financial reporting, and enjoys partnering across departments to ensure accurate financial operations. The successful candidate will have experience with SOX compliance, U.S. GAAP, SAP, and cost accounting processes.
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
- Support the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial consolidations.
- Prepare monthly internal financial and statistical reports for management.
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements, including footnotes and supporting schedules.
- Maintain ERP reporting and ensure financial data accuracy within SAP.
- Coordinate quarterly and annual financial schedules, disclosures, and reporting requirements.
- Perform SOX control testing and documentation while supporting internal and external audit activities.
- Assist with cost accounting processes, procedures, and reporting.
- Analyze inventory variances and monitor related internal controls.
- Ensure timely completion of reconciliations, roll-forwards, and reporting deadlines.
- Support LIFO/FIFO cost updates and maintain accurate product costing within the ERP system.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance accounting efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance requirements.
- Experience with cost accounting and inventory analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- SAP experience is required.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
- Experience working in a large corporate or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with financial consolidations and ERP reporting.
- Proven ability to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.
