Our client is seeking experienced L2 Data Center Technicians to support hands-on infrastructure operations and hardware deployment activities. The organization values practical technical expertise, strong communication, reliable execution, and professionals who can confidently explain their experience working with data center hardware, cabling, deployments, and infrastructure.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$31/hr – $34/hr

Position Overview:

The L2 Data Center Technician will support data center operations, rack-and-stack activities, hardware deployment, troubleshooting, and cabling. The ideal candidate will have genuine data center experience and the ability to clearly explain previous projects, hardware supported, rack units (RU), cabling, and deployment activities.
The L2 Data Center Technician will work directly within a data center environment supporting modern infrastructure and hardware deployments. Practical hands-on experience is more important than certifications for this opportunity.

Responsibilities of the L2 Data Center Technician:

  • Perform hands-on data center operations and infrastructure support.
  • Execute rack-and-stack activities for data center hardware.
  • Deploy, install, and troubleshoot hardware.
  • Perform fiber and copper cabling activities.
  • Support hardware deployment and infrastructure projects.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and connectivity-related issues.
  • Document and communicate completed deployment activities.
  • Clearly communicate previous technical projects and hands-on experience.
  • Support infrastructure utilizing modern technologies, including GPU-based environments.
  • Work with data center cooling technologies, including air and liquid cooling, as applicable.

Required Experience/Skills for the L2 Data Center Technician:

  • Hands-on experience as an L2 Data Center Technician or similar data center role.
  • Genuine, verifiable experience in data center operations.
  • Strong rack-and-stack experience with data center hardware.
  • Hands-on hardware deployment and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience working with fiber and copper cabling.
  • Basic networking and cabling knowledge.
  • Ability to clearly explain previous projects, hardware supported, rack units (RU), cabling, and deployments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a data center environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work onsite in a data center environment.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the L2 Data Center Technician:

  • Linux knowledge is preferred but not required.
  • Experience supporting GPU-based infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with air and liquid cooling technologies.
  • Experience working with modern data center infrastructure.
  • Data center certifications are a plus but are not required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to confidently discuss hands-on technical experience during the interview process.

Education Requirements:

  • No specific education requirement or certification is required.
