Our client is a well-established Florida personal injury law firm with a longstanding reputation for advocating for individuals and families affected by serious injuries. The firm offers a collaborative legal environment and is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their Nursing Home Abuse department. Â
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$80k – $100k Annually Â
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced pre-litigation or litigation Paralegal to support the Nursing Home Abuse practice. The ideal candidate will have direct medical malpractice and/or nursing home abuse experience and will support attorneys with case management, medical records, client communication, legal documentation, and pre-litigation or litigation responsibilities based on experience. Â
Responsibilities of the Paralegal:
- The Paralegal will support Attorneys with Nursing Home Abuse and Medical Malpractice matters through the pre-litigation and/or litigation process.
- Manage case files, calendars, deadlines, correspondence, and supporting documentation.
- The Paralegal will request, obtain, organize, and review medical records and other case-related documentation.
- Communicate with clients, healthcare providers, insurance representatives, opposing counsel, experts, and other involved parties.
- Assist with case investigations and preparation of pre-suit and/or litigation materials.
- The Paralegal will assist with pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, court filings, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation.
- Track outstanding records, discovery, documentation, and deadlines to ensure cases progress efficiently.
Required Experience/Skills for the Paralegal:
- Medical malpractice and/or nursing home abuse experience is required.
- Prior Pre-Litigation Paralegal and/or Litigation Paralegal experience.
- Experience reviewing and organizing medical records and case documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced legal environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Paralegal:
- Experience handling Nursing Home Abuse matters from intake through resolution.
- Litigation experience including discovery, pleadings, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation.
- Familiarity with Florida court procedures and filing requirements.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
Education Requirements:
- Paralegal certificate or relevant education is preferred.
- Equivalent legal experience will be considered.
