Our client is a mid-sized, growth-oriented manufacturer specializing in high-quality products for industrial and commercial customers across North America. With a strong focus on precision, reliability, and customer service, they partner with OEMs and distributors in industries such as automotive, aerospace, consumer goods, and industrial equipment. Salary/Hourly Rate:
$60k – $70k plus performance-based incentives/commission Â
Position Overview:
The Account Manager (Manufacturing) will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of key manufacturing customers. This role focuses on strengthening customer relationships, understanding technical and operational needs, coordinating with internal teams (Engineering, Production, Logistics), and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate has B2B account management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment and is comfortable working with technical products and production timelines. Â
Responsibilities of the Account Manager (Manufacturing):
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer requirements, applications, and production schedules to anticipate needs and identify opportunities.
- Prepare quotes, proposals, and pricing in coordination with Sales Leadership and Finance.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Production, Quality, and Logistics) to ensure timely order fulfillment and resolve issues.
- Monitor order status, lead times, and inventory levels; proactively communicate updates to customers.
- Analyze sales data and account performance to identify growth opportunities and risks.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts to discuss performance, forecasts, and new opportunities.
- Support new product introductions and customer onboarding activities.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, including contacts, activities, opportunities, and forecasts.
- Participate in trade shows, customer visits, and onsite meetings as needed.
- Assist in resolving customer complaints and quality issues in partnership with the Quality and Operations teams.
Required Experience/Skills for the Account Manager (Manufacturing):
- 3+ years of B2B account management, customer service, or sales experience, preferably in manufacturing, industrial, or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lead times, and supply chain considerations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple accounts and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and operational data.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to travel to customer sites and company locations as needed (up to 20%).
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Account Manager (Manufacturing):
- Experience with OEM, distributor, or industrial accounts.
- Familiarity with reading technical drawings, specifications, or bills of materials (BOMs).
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor).
- Prior involvement in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
