Salary/Hourly Rate:
$180k – $220k + Bonus + Equity Â
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Senior Director of FP&A to lead key aspects of the company’s financial planning and analysis processes while serving as a strategic partner to senior leadership. This position will oversee annual budgeting, quarterly targets, forecasting, monthly reporting, financial analysis, and strategic planning. The Senior Director will be responsible for driving improvements to existing FP&A processes while developing new reporting and analytical capabilities that provide actionable insights into business performance, profitability, and efficiency. This role will work closely with a small FP&A team and will have people-management responsibilities. The position will also partner extensively with leaders across sales, operations, customer-facing functions, and other areas of the business to provide financial insight and identify opportunities for continued growth and improved profitability. Â
Responsibilities of the Senior Director of FP&A:
- Direct the financial planning and analysis function to monitor business performance and develop investment, budgeting, and financial strategies.
- Coordinate financial analysis, financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting efforts to support executive decision-making.
- Lead initiatives to continuously improve FP&A processes and develop analytics that provide greater insight into business trends.
- Establish policies and repeatable processes for collecting, analyzing, and reporting financial data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Partner closely with cross-functional leadership to align financial strategies with business objectives and monitor fiscal performance.
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to business leaders, providing insight into performance and opportunities for growth and profitability.
- Manage and develop a small team, providing coaching, guidance, and oversight of high-quality deliverables.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial analyses, reporting, and strategic assignments as needed.
- Communicate financial insights and recommendations effectively to key stakeholders.
- Operate successfully in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Director of FP&A:
- 10+ years of experience in FP&A, with at least 4 years in leadership, strategic finance, or a related financial leadership function.
- Proven experience leading FP&A activities within a large, complex, and high-growth organization.
- Strong experience with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and management reporting.
- Experience developing scalable FP&A processes and implementing financial tools and systems to improve efficiency and reduce reliance on manual Excel-based processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working with large datasets and translating financial information into meaningful business insights.
- Strong cross-functional business partnering capabilities.
- Excellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly self-motivated, collaborative, solutions-oriented, and comfortable challenging the status quo.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Director of FP&A:
- Experience with NetSuite and Power BI.
- Experience with other business intelligence, analytics, or financial reporting tools.
- Experience leading or mentoring finance professionals.
- Experience supporting operational or customer-facing business functions.
- Experience in a highly analytical, technology-enabled, or rapidly changing organization.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field is required.
- MBA or Master’s degree is preferred.
