Our client is a global financial services and market infrastructure organization providing institutional clients with access to financial and commodities markets through technology, liquidity, data, and trading solutions. They are currently looking for an experienced Senior Algorithmic Trading Developer to join their Global Trading Technology team.  

Salary/Hourly Rate:

Up to $173k  

Position Overview:

The Senior Algorithmic Trading Developer will design, develop, and support high-availability, low-latency algorithmic trading solutions used by internal trading desks and institutional clients. The role will work closely with Quantitative, Product, Sales, and Technology teams to build and enhance a next-generation global trading platform.  

Responsibilities of the Senior Algorithmic Trading Developer:

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance algorithmic trading platforms and solutions.
• Develop customizable, low-latency trading strategies.
• Build and maintain trading infrastructure, including order management, order handling, rules engines, and related components.
• Partner with Quantitative teams to implement trading algorithms, models, and analytical signals.
• Develop and enhance execution algorithms and trading strategies.
• Work with Product and Sales teams to support client requests and algorithm customizations.
• Develop scalable, reusable, and performance-focused software.
• Participate in a collaborative Agile development environment.
• Continuously improve trading technology, processes, and platform performance.

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Algorithmic Trading Developer:

• 3 – 5+ years of experience developing low-latency trading strategies within Equities, Futures, or Listed Derivatives.
• Strong experience developing execution algorithms, proprietary trading strategies, smart order routing, or similar electronic trading solutions.
• Experience with benchmark tracking, liquidity-seeking, dark aggregation, or comparable trading algorithms.
• Strong understanding of market microstructure, order types, liquidity, and market data.
• Knowledge of electronic trading regulations and concepts, including Reg NMS, ISO orders, MiFID II, and dark pools.
• Experience with quantitative models, statistical analysis, simulation, and/or strategy back-testing.
• Expert-level Java development experience.
• Strong Linux experience.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and performance-focused software development.
• Ability to collaborate across Quant, Product, Sales, Operations, and Technology teams.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Algorithmic Trading Developer:

• Experience working within Agile development environments.
• Experience with low-latency messaging technologies such as Solace or 29West.
• Knowledge of event-driven and publish/subscribe programming models.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
