We operate in a metric‑driven, sales‑minded environment with clear goals, accountability, and healthy competition. Effort shows up in numbers, performance is visible, and ownership is expected.

This is an environment for professionals who are hungry to produce, motivated by goals, and energized by fast‑paced work where results drive opportunity and growth.

Position Overview

Atrium is a leading Talent Solutions firm with a strong reputation for performance, innovation, and results. We are seeking a high‑energy, competitive Business Development Associate to drive new revenue growth within our Finance & Accounting (F&A) Talent Solutions division.

This is a sales‑first, production‑driven role focused on prospecting, winning new business, and building long‑term client partnerships in a competitive market. The Business Development Associate will leverage an existing network, proactively prospect new opportunities, and develop the sales skills needed to consistently close staffing business.

This role is ideal for someone early in their sales career—including recent graduates or professionals with limited experience—who brings grit, hunger, and resilience, and is motivated to build a long‑term career in staffing and business development. Success in this role comes from effort, persistence, and execution.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

The Business Development Associate is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities while contributing directly to Atrium’s revenue growth.

New Business Development & Sales Execution

  • Aggressively pursue new staffing opportunities with prospective and existing Atrium clients
  • Train under the guidance of the Division Director of Finance & Accounting while rapidly building an active pipeline of leads
  • Leverage an existing contact base, networking, warm outreach, and consistent cold calling to generate new business
  • Schedule and conduct consultative sales meetings with hiring managers and HR/Talent Acquisition teams
  • Convert leads into opportunities by confidently positioning Atrium’s staffing capabilities and competitive differentiators
  • Develop pricing proposals and negotiate rates to drive profitable margins
  • Own and deliver against defined sales goals, activity metrics, and performance expectations

Prospecting, Pipeline & CRM Management

  • Generate sales leads through outbound calls, emails, targeted marketing campaigns, and networking efforts
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of all prospecting activity, sales conversations, proposals, and closed business within Atrium’s CRM platform
  • Manage multiple prospects and proposals simultaneously in a fast‑paced, high‑volume sales environment

Client Engagement & Market Presence

  • Conduct consultative meetings with client stakeholders (department leaders and HR/TA contacts) to uncover staffing needs and pain points
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction, repeat business, and long‑term partnership
  • Represent Atrium professionally in face‑to‑face meetings, onsite client visits, and industry settings

Collaboration & Sales Enablement

  • Partner with Divisional Leaders, Business Development Managers, and Recruiters to uncover market intelligence and target opportunities
  • Engage internal subject matter experts (SMEs) to support solution design, pricing strategy, and proposal development
  • Coordinate contributors for presentations, solution planning, and customized proposals

Brand Building & Industry Visibility

  • Stay current on Atrium’s service offerings, messaging, and competitive positioning
  • Confidently represent Atrium’s full Talent Solutions portfolio
  • Attend networking events, conferences, and industry organizations as approved by leadership to build pipeline and visibility

Additional Responsibilities

  • Complete additional sales initiatives or projects as assigned by management

Qualifications

Experience & Mindset

  • 0–4 years of experience in sales, recruiting, staffing, customer‑facing, or other performance‑driven roles
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated history of working toward goals, quotas, metrics, or competitive targets (professional, academic, athletics, or other environments)

What Matters Most

  • Grit, hunger, and resilience — this role requires persistence, urgency, and comfort with rejection
  • Strong desire to build a career in sales and business development
  • Coachable mindset with the ability to learn quickly and apply feedback
  • Comfortable operating in a metric‑driven, accountable environment

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with client stakeholders
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and opportunities
  • Competitive, self‑motivated, and energized by goals, numbers, and results

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You:

  • Are motivated by opportunity, growth, and upside rather than comfort
  • Take ownership of your results and are willing to outwork challenges
  • View rejection as part of the process, not a setback
  • Want to be trained, coached, and developed in a true sales environment
  • Are excited by a role where effort directly impacts performance, earnings, and career progression

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at a desk for extended periods (sitting or standing)
  • Ability to work onsite in the Boston office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
  • Ability to travel between Atrium offices as needed, with reliable transportation
  • Ability to attend national industry events and conferences as required

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience required
