Our client is a well-established and growing professional services firm that provides accounting, tax, consulting, and advisory solutions to businesses and individuals. They are currently looking to add a Senior Tax Leader/Tax Director to their team. $130k – $180k

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced tax professional to provide leadership on complex tax engagements, guide client tax strategy, and support the development of a growing team. This Senior Tax Leader/Tax Director role will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, oversee high-level tax compliance and planning initiatives, and contribute to the firm’s continued growth and operational success.

Responsibilities of the Senior Tax Leader/Tax Director:

  • Lead and oversee complex tax engagements for both business and individual clients.
  • Provide strategic tax planning guidance related to entity structures, business transactions, succession planning, and long-term tax strategies.
  • Review tax returns and related filings to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with client objectives.
  • Research and interpret complex tax regulations and communicate practical recommendations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Partner with professionals across multiple service lines to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop managers and staff members to support career growth and technical excellence.
  • Assist with business development initiatives, networking opportunities, and client presentations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and service delivery standards.
  • Manage engagement planning, staffing, budgets, and project deadlines.
  • Support firm-wide initiatives and other responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Tax Leader/Tax Director:

  • 8+ years of progressive tax experience within public accounting or a similar professional services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience delivering tax planning and consulting services to a variety of clients.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams, projects, and client relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation, compliance, and research software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Tax Leader/Tax Director:

  • Construction industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with complex business entities and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Background in advanced tax planning, business structuring, and transaction-related consulting.
  • Experience supporting business development and growth initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and develop future leaders within an organization.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • CPA license required or eligibility to obtain licensure.
