Client Overview: 

Our client is one of the world’s largest energy delivery systems. They provide electricity and gas to people living in New York City and Westchester County. They are currently looking to add a LAN Admin to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate: 

$55/hr – $60/hr

Position Overview:

The  LAN Admin is responsible for the Technical Administrative support of the Control Center. They maintain the configuration, readiness, availability, and reliable operation of computer endpoint systems within the Center Environment. The LAN Admin will ensure that the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the computers they manage meet the needs of the clients.

Responsibilities of the LAN Admin:

  • Support Management with tracking of computer/printer devices for asset controls. 
  • Work within a DHCP and DNS environment, setting up DNS clients and configuring PC’s for DHCP.
  • Configure TCP/IP manually and automatically using DHCP.
  • Assist in setting up and configuring user accounts, email, and access permissions.
  • Collaborate with the IT helpdesk to resolve user issues promptly.
  • Assist in implementing and managing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Perform routine data backups and ensure data integrity.
  • Participate in disaster recovery drills and testing.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Prepare reports on system performance and incident resolutions.
  • Assist in implementing and enforcing security policies and protocols.
  • Monitor system logs for security breaches and unauthorized access.
  • Participate in security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
  • Perform routine system updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Assist in managing and troubleshooting network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Help maintain network security protocols and access controls.

  • Experience with imaging, preparing, and deploying desktop workstations.
  • Must be proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Desktop Operating System administration.
  • Must be proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Server Operating System administration.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Must be proficient in PowerShell.
  • A driver’s license is required.
  • Must be able to respond to company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to customers.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within the metro NYC area, as needed.
  • Must be available to work off-hours as operationally required, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of demonstrated work experience in a related Information Technology field.
  • Associate’s degree with equivalent technical certification and four (4) years of demonstrated work experience in a related Information Technology field.
