Our client is a leading global organization seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to support its Global Payroll team. The company offers a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering accurate and efficient payroll services across the Americas region and beyond.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$40/hr – $45/hr
Position Overview:
The Payroll Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert for U.S. payroll processing while supporting global payroll operations as needed. This role requires strong Workday Payroll experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. The position offers the flexibility to work remotely while supporting East Coast business hours, with preference given to candidates local to the Boston area.
Responsibilities of the Payroll Analyst:
- Process semi-monthly payroll for approximately 2,000 U.S.-based salary and hourly employees across multiple states.
- Calculate retroactive pay adjustments, overpayments, overtime payments, and benefit-related payroll transactions.
- Respond to employee and vendor payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Partner with Treasury to forecast payroll funding requirements and ensure accurate payroll execution.
- Coordinate with Global Mobility, Tax, and Payroll teams on expatriate payroll transitions.
- Lead U.S. W-2 reconciliations and support year-end payroll reporting activities.
- Assist Accounting with payroll journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain Workday payroll configurations, including taxes, earnings, deductions, and general ledger mappings.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
- Investigate payroll issues, recommend solutions, and implement corrective actions in collaboration with management.
Required Experience/Skills for the Payroll Analyst:
- Minimum of 3 years of U.S. payroll processing experience; 5+ years strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll.
- Experience processing multi-state payroll.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work East Coast business hours.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Payroll Analyst:
- 5+ years of payroll processing experience.
- Experience with ADP and other payroll vendor platforms.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience supporting global payroll operations.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with quarter-end and year-end deadlines.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
