Our client, a growing manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$100k – $120k
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate for the Accounting Manager role will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting, including inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS), and experience working within an ERP system. This role will partner closely with operations to support inventory management, financial analysis, and continuous process improvements.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:
- Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Oversee the general ledger, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Analyze and maintain inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS), standard costing, and inventory valuation.
- Monitor inventory transactions, variances, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes to ensure financial accuracy.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to improve inventory controls and accounting processes.
- Support internal and external audits and maintain accurate financial documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures and operational efficiencies.
Required Experience/Skills for the Accounting Manager:
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and COGS analysis.
- Experience working within an ERP system is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and advanced formulas.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounting Manager:
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Epicor, Sage, or similar.
- CPA or CPA-track is a plus.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
