Our client is a well-known and established fashion brand with a creative, collaborative team and a fun, fast-paced work environment. They are looking to add an Associate Technical Designer – Denim to their team. The company is passionate about creating well-designed, quality apparel and offers an opportunity to work closely with talented teams across Design, Technical Design, and Production.  

Salary/Hourly Rate:

Up to $31/hr  

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking an Associate Technical Designer – Denim to join the Technical Design team and help bring apparel from concept to final product. This role will work closely with Design, Production, and vendors to ensure garments meet fit, construction, quality, and brand standards. Denim experience is required, making this a great opportunity for someone with hands-on denim technical design experience who enjoys a collaborative and creative environment. This assignment is expected to last 3+ months, through November 30, 2026.  

Responsibilities of the Associate Technical Designer – Denim:

  • Partner with Designers to translate design vision into technically accurate garments and technical packages.
  • Evaluate garments for fit, construction, and overall quality.
  • Lead and facilitate fit sessions throughout product development.
  • Communicate fit and development updates to vendors from initial concept through TOP samples.
  • Prepare detailed fit reports and communicate updates through calls, sketches, and pattern corrections.
  • Maintain fit standards and consistency throughout the development process.
  • Track samples, fit reports, approvals, and other product development documentation.
  • Create and maintain sample tracking reports and follow up on development timelines.
  • Collaborate with Design, Production, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Support additional technical design projects as needed.

Required Experience/Skills for the Associate Technical Designer – Denim:

  • Apparel industry experience.
  • Denim technical design experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of garment fit, construction, and technical design processes.
  • Strong attention to detail with an eye for color, trends, and garment construction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Comfortable collaborating with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Associate Technical Designer – Denim:

  • Approximately 1 – 2 years of relevant technical design experience is preferred.
  • Experience supporting denim product development from initial concept through final samples.
  • Experience conducting fit sessions and preparing detailed fit comments.
  • Experience working with technical packages, pattern corrections, and sample tracking.
  • PLM or other apparel product development system experience is a plus.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Art, Technical Design, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
